Kevin J. Wetherille – 2025 Super Lawyer
Kevin J. Wetherille was recently named a 2025 Super Lawyer in recognition of his outstanding work in family law and his dedication to his clients and the Shakopee community. This prestigious distinction is awarded to no more than five percent of attorneys in each state.
For Kevin, this selection is a testament to his more than two decades of dedication to protecting the rights of his Minnesota clients and fighting to secure bright futures for them and their families.
Kevin began work with our firm – at that time named Jaspers, Moriarty, & Walburg – during his time as a law student. Initially joining us as a law clerk, he quickly became an associate upon being admitted to the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2003. By 2007, he was named a shareholder, and in 2014, he became the firm’s CEO and Managing Partner. His primary focus is on civil litigation, family law, probate law, estate planning, and real estate.
A graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts in History with a focus on United States and Native American History before earning his Juris Doctor at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul. His bar admissions include the Minnesota State Bar, the U.S. District Court District of Minnesota, and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux (Dakota) Tribal Court.
Throughout his career, Kevin has been dedicated to providing practical, client-focused representation and giving back to the community through various pro bono activities. He serves as President and Director of Shakopee Dollars for Scholars, a local chapter of the Scholarship America non-profit dedicated to providing opportunities to students pursuing higher education by raising and awarding scholarships.
Kevin’s other pro bono activities include serving as Director for Saints Healthcare Funds, the Scott County Historical Society, and the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on the Shakopee Public Schools Human Resources Academy and the Greater MSP-Partner Advisory Councils. He regularly speaks on estate planning and has contributed to professional discussions in legal marketing and client service.
Nicole A. Raebel – 2025 Rising Star
Nicole A. Raebel was recently named a 2025 Super Lawyers Rising Star for her work in estate planning and probate. This marks her fifth consecutive year receiving this distinguished honor. The Super Lawyers Rising Star recognition is awarded to just 2.5 percent of attorneys in Minnesota under the age of 40 or in practice for 10 years or less.
Nicole’s continued presence on the Rising Stars list reflects not only her exceptional skill in her practice area but also her unwavering dedication to securing her clients’ futures.
Nicole’s legal career began with Jaspers, Moriarty & Wetherille, P.A., where she served as law clerk during her time at law school. Upon earning her Juris Doctor and being admitted to the Minnesota State Bar, Nicole joined the firm as an Associate Attorney and has now earned the title of Partner and Shareholder. In that time, she has established herself as a skilled and compassionate attorney in the areas of probate administration, estate planning, guardianships and conservatorships, family law, business law, contracts, and general civil litigation.
Nicole earned her Bachelor of Arts from Winona State University, where she made the Dean’s List and was a member of the Lambda Pi Eta communication scholars honor society. She then earned her JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, where she made the Dean’s List, earned the Dean’s Award in Mediation, was a Student Certified Attorney with the Nonprofit Clinic, and served as Senior Editor on the St. Thomas Journal of Law & Public Policy.
In her time practicing law, Nicole has handled over 250 guardianship and conservatorship cases across multiple counties. She has represented clients in a wide range of legal areas, including contract disputes, adverse possession, and estate matters exceeding $1 million in value.
