James P. Conway
Jim is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Prior to law school, Jim obtained a B.A., cum laude, in history from Marquette University in Milwaukee. After college Jim was a pro staff and delivery coordinator for Home Depot where he worked with local Minnesota contractors to achieve over $1 million in weekly delivery volume.

Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Jim clerked for JMW for approximately two years. In that time, he was student-certified for practice and engaged in the representation of indigent clients on child support, paternity and civil commitment cases.
Jim had the honor of being the first in his graduating class to argue a case before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Jim has been published in the American Bar Association’s Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases, as well as assisted in the creation of CLE materials for post-judgment creditor remedies and strategies. Jim’s diverse practice includes civil litigation, estate planning, personal injury, family, criminal, bankruptcy, and debtor-creditor law. Jim is also a frequent contributor to JMW’s blog.
In addition to his professional work, Jim volunteers in the community speaking to high school students about their Constitutional rights and practical legal issues that confront them in their daily lives and is an active member of the Shakopee Rotary club where is serves on the Board of Directors. Jim is happily married and lives in Minnetonka with his wife, Amy, and daughter, Lucy.
